School or religious education students in grades 4 through 8 to serve at Our Lord’s table at Mass.
Assist with ideas for decorating the church during each liturgical season and also with setting up.
Share and teach your faith with youngsters on Tuesday afternoons, at either the 4 p.m. or 6:30 session.
Share and teach your faith with children 3 to 5 years of age during 9:30 Mass.
Assist the teachers at either Tuesday classes or Sunday preschool sessions.
Help create and promote programs that aid the needs of the parish and wider community, in addition to assisting with activities.
Assist with gathering gifts for the needy and delivering them to nearby parishes.
Adults and youths who have been confirmed, to distribute Holy Communion during Mass and to homebound parishioners.
Acts as the catalyst for individual and parish evangelization by helping parishioners build enthusiasm for their faith so they freely share it and by inviting active and inactive Catholics, non-Catholics and the unchurched to hear the Good News.
Get involved with fun activities for families.
Spring and summer planting and maintenance, and autumn clean-up.
Welcome people in the gathering space before Mass.
Take part in building homes for the needy, utilizing any skills you may have.
Acquire information on joining the Our Lady Star of the Sea Council 7780.
Adults and youths who have been confirmed, to read the Scriptures at Mass on weekends and weekdays.
Deliver hot meals to homebound on weekday mornings.
Support and participate in activities benefitting the parish and school.
Assist is stuffing bulletins with fliers or envelopes for special mailings.
Share your faith with someone making a journey to the Catholic Christian faith in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
Assist with the reception after the Easter Vigil.
Participate in programs aimed at defending the dignity of life from conception to natural death.
A spiritual group of women who meet socially and care for the church’s altar and other items in the worship space.
Wash and iron the linens used at Mass – corporals, purificators and hand towels.
Adults and youths who have been confirmed to prepare the sacred vessels and the bread and wine for Mass, light candles, turn on/off church lights and ensure that vessels are cleaned afterward.
Join the Our Lady Star of the Sea conference and help the needy in the area.
Participate with students in classrooms and assist librarians.
Assist office staff.
Assist the school in one or several activities and fund-raisers.
Volunteer to assist at parish events such as Friday fish fries, the parish picnic, Fall Fest, etc.
Through the success of Changing Lives Together and the generosity of many parishioners, we renovated the convent into the parish offices, created The Pointe for parish formation and fellowship gatherings, installed new energy efficient windows in the middle school, improved technology throughout the campus and much more.
Coordinate the making of coffee and securing doughnuts for this popular event after 9:30 Mass during from September to June. Handling this responsibility once every other month is sufficient.
Teenagers and adult volunteers called to participate in parish youth group meetings, events and service projects.
Assist in gathering and delivering food baskets.
Drive parishioners to Mass and/or parish events.
Greet and seat people at Mass, handle offertory collections, coordinate the offertory and Communion processions, distribute bulletins, assist with any emergencies, prepare the church for the next Mass and share in social activities that also include fund-raisers for parish and outreach programs.
Help to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, consecrated religious life and lay ministries.
Lead a Rosary or Scripture Service at nearby funeral homes.
Lead rehearsals and assist before, during and after the ceremony.
Plan and evaluate liturgical and sacramental life of the parish.
